Each Savory Soup Sack comes with easy to follow cooking instructions, nutrition facts and savory soup mix spice pack.
Peddler's Vegetarian Soup Instructions
Add the following:
1 medium onion, chopped
4 Tablespoons olive oil
2 fresh carrots, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1/2 cabbage, shredded (7 to 8 cups) (about 2-3/4 pounds)
1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
4 Tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
Remove Savory Spice Pack, set aside. Check and rinse beans and add 10 cups water. Bring to boil 10 minutes. Remove from heat, cover and let stand 1 hour (OR, add water to rinsed beans and soak overnight). DRAIN. Add 8 cups water. Bring to a full boil and reduce to a simmer. Continue cooking covered until beans are very tender. Add onion, oil, carrots, celery, and shredded cabbage. Cook covered for 2½ hours or until vegetables are tender and well cooked. Add tomatoes, lemon juice, Parmesan cheese and the entire contents of Savory Spice Pack. Simmer the soup for 30 minutes. Remove the bay leaf before serving. Salt to taste. Enjoy...!!!
